Have a 69 manual trans, 427/390 that has recently started to stall as I bring her to a stop at stop signs, lights, sometimes as I slow to make a turn, etc. Drove her yesterday for a few miles around town and it happened almost every time. Otherwise she runs strong and normal under all other driving scenarios. Any thoughts/ideas on what could be the issue??
What carb are you running? Qjet or Holley? I am assuming when you are slowing down your foot is not on the accelerator at all, meaning the throttle blades are closed,(high vacuum) and you are operating on the idle circuits... I am thinking your carb may be dirty or have a idle circuit obstructed, however the timing could be at issue as well.
If you run the idle screw in making the car idle around 1500 pulling from the main jets and off the idle circuits - do you have the same problem?
