1968 BB compressor & manifold Fit Issues........

As some of you may have seen in my postings, I am trying to restore my 68 BB AC.
I purchased a Pro6ten compressor several years ago off a forum member.
I went to mock it up yesterday with the 1968 original manifold and I can not mount it.
With the manifold installed on the rear of the new compressor the 1/2" diameter affixed barbed fitting now hits the inner fire wall. With it removed no problem the compressor mounts fine.
It looks like I will have to get a generic style GM A-6 manifold and two screw on barbed fittings. One for a 1/2" hose and the other for a 5/8th ID hoses. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not going to scrap the compressor so I am not buying a remanufactured A-6 and I am not qualified to heat aluminum and tweek the orig. manifold barb.
Ideas and suggestions are always welcome???

So at Tampa Jerry's suggestion, I called Old Air here in FL. I spoke with the right guy. He told me how to tweak the manifold tube (no heat).
Now it clears the inner fender wall and I was able to get the hose to condenser on with no issues. I was able to even adjust the AC fan belt w/o the manifold hitting the inner wheel well. About two steps away from pulling a vac and fingers crossed she has no leaks. I may just have AC again after a decade.
Happy dance
