Default steering column centering

Hello All,
I disassembled my steering column but ran into trouble rebuilding it so I sent it out for rebuilding. The company rebuilding the column needs to know the position of the column so that the upper and lower (tilt/tele) is not out of position 180 degrees. The steering box was out of the car when I sent out the column so I want to be sure that I give them the right orientation. The wheels are pointing straight ahead but I had everything apart when I removed the column so I'm not sure that everything is back together in the proper orientation. Here are pictures of the box looking straight down as well as pictures of the pitman arm from underneath.
Thanks

It's been too long since I went through this on my '73 to be able to tell you everything you need to know. But, there is a specific orientation for everything related to the column. For example, there is a flat spot on the shaft of the steering gear box where the rag joint connects. That flat spot must be in the correct orientation (up if I remember correctly). The pitman arm has to be on correctly, the tie rods ends have to be adjusted so that everything is perfectly centered. My column had the lower shaft 180 degrees out. Took me forever to figure that out but finally did with the help of Jim Shea's steering papers which you need and which you should get to the company doing your rebuild.

Here's a link to Jim's papers: http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?cat=5

DC3 is correct the flat is facing up when the wheels are straight.

Thank you for the help. I did find those papers that you linked to. Looks like the flat is up on the steering box so I should be good to let them know that it is oriented that way.
Stay well.
