Wiper door / Wiper
I then replaced the Wiper Door Actuator End Plug and the Wiper Door Actuator Rod Seal in the Wiper Door Actuator. The door opened several times, however, the last time the door closed, it closed hard and wouldn’t operate again. I noticed that the Wiper Door Actuator Rod Seal had blown/ripped. The old one was the same way when I removed it. Any suggestions on why the Rod Seal has blown and any suggestions on what to look for in getting the wipers to work. Nothing happens when I try to activate the wipers.
Thanks in advance.
The wipers are fun......first you must verify the power is getting to the switch next to the actuator on the firewall, then you must make sure the foot for that switch is adjusted properly to activate the switch when the door is open. The design does not allow wiper power until the door is fully open. THEN, you must see if you have power through the switch.....to the wiper motor. Start there. There are several other things it could be but this is where you start. The switch is in your photo circled in red.
I am doing a diag on the whole system on a completely inop 72' this weekend......not my normal fodder, but I do know how so I told the fella ok. Nobody will pass inspection on his car until the wipers work.

. Their not that expensive. Though I'm not mechanically inclined, I'm determined to get this resolved. Hope to work on this next week when I receive them.
