Tachometer cable lengths??
I guess I need a new tach cable, while trying to order one I see there are different lengths. I have a 1971 base 350/270hp automatic coupe. They offer a 22 inch and a 40 inch, I think there is a smaller one too, maybe a 7 inch. I suspect I need the 22 inch which seems about right. Just want to make sure before I order it. Also going to get a new drive gear. Can I get just the drive gear or should I get the full kit. Drive gear alone is like $39 full kit is $98...
Hi and thanks, but I’m not sure how thIs helps me. The link takes me to a page and a chart talking about truck cables... Do they also have Corvette tachometer cables. I figure the must be a standard size for the year and model of my car, plug and play...

What is a "new gear drive?" The tach cable clips into the tachometer housing cannister and the other end screws into the distributor tach drive. This is the stock, factory configuration. I'm aware that there is a 90 degree tach drive iadapter than can be screwed into the distributor allowing the tach drive cable to mate to the distributor at a 90 degree angle. Apparently some people find this as a more conventient way to link the tach cable to the distributor. Is this what you are describing?
