The courtesy light in the back of the luggage compartment hasnt worked for decades. When i restored my car i didnt even bother with it.. I figured id spend the next few decades making the car perfect..
Well, the time has come to get it working.
Pulled the lens off and found the contacts to be pretty corroded. (My car sat in a garage for years before I restored it about 20 years ago)
Anyway, I put a new bulb in and got nothing.
Pulled the bulb and hit the contacts with a fine wire brush to clean them up.
Still nothing.
Checked the contacts with a multimeter . Looks like I have 12 volts (The passenger side contact appears to be the hot side). All should be good right?
What am I missing?
I also noticed that the Corvette parts suppliers dont carry the full kit. Only the lens and the housing - None of the electrical contacts etc.
Thanks.. Ill check out this site. the link you provided was for a different bulb / area. Im looking for the contacts for the courtesy light at the back of the luggage compartment. The festoon bulb socket / contacts.

Sorry about that. I meant to just give you the link to Lectric Limiteds site but I got distracted and ended up copying and pasting more than I had intended.
The tester lights up when i use the probe on the hot side of the contacts. (Its a festoon bulb if you remember)
The other contact (presumably the ground) doesnt do anything.
The probing was finicky. It didnt light the tester everywhere on the contact. I had to move it around to get it to light. Im assuming the contact needs more cleaning.
