Hmmmmmm
OK I wanna make a 427 engine for my vette
Now what I need to know are the specifications(HP/torque) for the mid ninties 427 engines(they did make them) they are a tall deck engine and you need to buy spacers for the intake manifold but they are out there. I can get the spacers I just wanna know more about the engine
Compression and stuff like that too. So I can decide if this is gonna be a cool way to go or if I am gonna axe that idea. Cause all it might need is a new cam to make a smokin car engine.
The tall deck 427's were made for trucks, busses, etc. So these are not designed for high performance, but for durability. basically the only thing of use from one of these in a performance application would be the block and possibly the crank. These are also tall deck so fitment into a vettes engine compartment would be iffy. I'd axe this idea. If you want a 427, it's easy enough still, you can use any Mark IV 427 or 454 block and simply use a 427 crank, the only difference between the 454's and 427's is the stroke, bore is the same, and internally vs externally balanced.
