I'm rebuilding a M20 this week - have done many of these before - BUT this time my USA master rebuild kit has the lesser quality 8 ball bearings for the input and midplate position. I've always heard the 11 ball bearings are better quality. On teardown this Muncie had the 11 ball bearings in it already. SO....how can I determine if re using these is a better way to go?

If your not happy with the quality of the bearing get the 11 ball ,, If I ever question myself you know what to do it will only cost you more in the end if it fails
Best advice I would offer is put the transmission assembly on hold long enough to obtain the bearing you want. If you don't get it now you will worry about it forever.
Doubling down on this. I bought his book and emailed a question.. He emailed back immediately on a weekend. He offered a phone call if there was more questions.

If you havent seen Pauls Youtube page, its pretty interesting to watch. Lots of info. If you go down near the bottom the TIPS videos can be fun to watch
I bought the Autogear transmission and IIRC they run a sealed bearing in the front. They explained there are no leaks with it and it keeps any possible debris out of the bearing. They are really nice people to deal with. Very helpful. I believe Paul C was instrumental in the development of that trans. Give them a call.
