Crate engine for 1982 Crossfire
As the Goodwrench Targetmaster has only got 8,2:1 CR, I am looking for a part# for a 9,0:1 engine which is suitable for Crossfire engine. I am not talking HO or ZZ4 engines here.
Any ideas?

The crossfire will run fine with the LM-1, several people have replaced their engines with this and slapped the CFI back on.
Maybe you can have something like the targetmaster (which is the LM1 if I'm not mistaking, a "hecho en mexico"- mexican built engine) built but with flat top L82 464664 pistons, that's where the difference in compression comes from. The LM1 is a 4 bolt engine, where the L83 is only 2 bolt.
