Default Gold heat screen

What are some of the results from the use of gold heat screen by Design Engineering on older Corvette engines? I see guys using it on some more modern engines with rave results about reducing heat but don't know as Corvette ppl would be as inclined to use it since it may look a bit sloppy placed on a nice looking 'show' engine. It might have other problems or not work as well as advertised either.

I'll check that thread but now I'm thinking I should change out the radiator, add fans, and change the water pump with a Frostbite kit I see Holley is suggesting for old big blocks. In the South temps are a bit extreme most of the year to drive an old BB.
