They are on the case flange where mating surface between the case adn cover are on the bottom. You may need to wipe off the paint or rust and crud to read them.

When you say that you want to know what you are running, I assume you mean the ratio. Simply count the number of revolutions that the driveshaft makes to one revolution of the tire. You can do this with the car elevated.
