ok so i got into an accident this mourning in the snow... hit a guard rail avoiding another accident... the only thing thats really f'd up is the bumber under the lights... the hood surround is scratched to hell and may have a few cracks but doesnt need to be replaced... what are the parts called associated with the front bumber cover and grills where the parking lights were... You must be talking about the Valance or the air dam. What year is it?

73 - up = bumper cover and maybe lower valance and spoiler.
Hopefully you won't need to replace the steel reinforcements
inside. They are tough to find new for certain years.

You might want to check with a few of the salvage guys and get a partial front clip. Some of those parts are way beyond frustrating to find. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but everything can be fixed if you want it bad enough.

Was there a lot of snow where you were? I live in Northern Virginia and we got 6 inches. It took me two hours to get home and I slid and got stuck 4 times on my way home in by T-bird (88-V8) You drove your vette in that type of weather? I wouldnt have (unless that is your only vehicle) Driving a corvette during the winter months especially with snow and ice on the ground is a sin. A few years ago when I was in the Army it had snowed the night before and I was on my way to work and a lieutenant who lived in my neighbor hood whizzed by me in his 40 annaiversary vette. I said to myself he is going to get into an accident. when I arrived to work for sure the lower valence panel wha completely ripped from the vehicle and the header and hood were cracked on his vehicle. Hope you or no one else was hurt. But your pocketbook will. In my opinion, Corvettes are not a good type of car to drive with snow or ice on the ground.
