Default New radiator looks completely wrong...help

I ordered a Champion Radiator from Jegs and it said it was for a ‘68. As you can see from the pictures, its for this ‘68.

Dimensions will fit and I like the idea of the bigger radiator. Should I make it work or send it back and get a smaller one?

The stock radiator has studs on the bottom that line up with the holes in the car but the new one has nothing. Is there any way to make this work?

Champion does not make a radiator for your application. What you bought is the Auto transmission radiator. https://www.championradiators.com/Ch...ator-1966-1968

You car has the manual transmission aluminum factory radiator.

So the nipple was snapped off as well ip by the radiator cap. I am sending it back for a refund and I just ordered a Cold Case radiator that looks like it fits.

its probably for auto..
not trying to get in to cold case or whoever.. but looking at pictures.. i would get the one USA made (yup costs 399) as it looks like it fits and the angles are right compared to the other.. like the bottom comes off from the side, and the top angle looks off on the Chinesium (and the one you got broke)

This would be a better comparison between the Cold Case and Dewitts with 1-1/4" tubes.

https://www.zip-corvette.com/63-67-3...or-ra-313.html

The Zip one guys use for comparison uses 1" tubes. Size, in this application, does make a difference.
That's why I said the Cold Case is the better buy - $300 cheaper!

Good luck, Is this the first aftermarket product you bought for your 68? You re going to find out that anything that says 68 through 72 or 68 through 82 probably isnt going to work. In fact some of the chassis parts would probably fit 66, 67 and 68. Theres a list some where around here but it should include the steering columns, steering box, front spindles , radiators , radiator supports, ignition switch, wiper switch wiring theory, wiper motor, ....... the list is pretty long.THen there is a few 68 69 only things like seat tracks and such....I forget more than I remember.

Your original radiator is the small unit for base cars (no AC, manual trans, etc). It is pared with the steel shroud. You purchased the larger radiator that came equipped with ac and auto cars. It is pared with a larger fiberglass shroud.

you can use the larger radiator but you should ideally install the larger fiberglass shroud to match it.
