I have new speakers for my '79 (the stock ones are totaly gone). I was just wandering if anyone has some instructions on how to put the things in? The rear 6x9s seem easy enough. However, the front 4x6s look like they will take a little work. Help....
If they are in the dash like my 81 {which i just installed } it is a piece of cake . Just unbolt the old ones and put in the new. I got the 2 new speakers at radio shack and they were about 12 bucks each and they sound good . Fit right in the hole like they were made for it.
Good Luck

:iagree: Very simple. Took me 10min for my front speakers in my 79. I put in a pair of Pioneers rated at 100watts.
My rear speaker brackets (if you want to call them that) have fallen to ruin. Previous owner installed speakers that had magnets that were too large, so the plastic frames cracked when he forced them in place.
Where can new ones be found? I don't see them in MADVET or Eckler's catalogs.
Paul : On my 81 the dash has two small grilles on each side and you just lift that grille up and there are the speakers. Undo the fasteners that hold the speakers in and pop them out and pop the new in bolt em down and Walla finished .
OMG i just sat in the car to take a look at how easy everyone said it would be and.....i removed all the old speakers in about 15-20 min! Putting in new ones will be easy too! Thnx guys!
