I would like to see pics of vettes with roots blowers. i think there very cool stickin' out o' the hood. been thinkin' about this for winter 2003.. :flag
I'm more interested in the tuning issues with a roots blower + carb application.
Sorry, but I'm an EFI guy, and have been tuning forced induction with EFI for about a decade...punching keys on a laptop to take care of the tuning is not that hard for _me_. But throw these carbs in my face, and I'm as green as it gets! ;)
My 454 roller is only 8.75:1 CR, so its ripe for a nice blower. Not sure I want to cut up the hood, though. A small nitrous plate would be more stealth, cheaper and just as effective probably.

Holley sells carbs already setup for the blower...they run from around $500-700 each depending on the application. I run a Weiand 144, the smallest made. My advice would be to run a 177 as a minimum with a small block and a single carb. That would be the least expensive route to go and run you about $3000 complete from blower to air cleaner. Wanting more power step up to a 671/871 with dual carbs. Expect to spend an additional $2000 to complete the project (about $5000) for the blower, 2 carbs, linkage, braided lines, air filters, additional blower pulleys. Of course that does not include any other upgrade to your engine or drivetrain to handle the additional power. Deen
