Default 78 L48 Idle solenoid

My 78 has auto and a/c so it has an idle solenoid too. In searching the archives I have not found a solution for a replacement solenoid. The q-jet is a 17058460 2178. The last four readable numbers on the solenoid are ..7468. Now the questions:
(1) Is this a service replacement carb? Can someone decode the build date for me?
(2) Will any non L82 solenoid fit? I am considering mating a 74 or 75 solenoid to my old bracket if possible. It seems the venders exclude 78's from their listings

You guys are a big help. Thanks

Can't help you on the Carb. No.
On the Idle Stop Solenoid, From the 53-82 Corvette Parts & Illustration Catalog the solenoid numbers are listed below.
1977 GM #17061769
1978 GM #1997461
1979 GM #17061769
1980 GM #17061769
Why GM assigned a different part number for the 78?
The replacement Idle Stop Solenoids may have a shorter adjustment screw and housing but they should still work.
The 17061769 has an adjustable stem for dialing in the idle speed when solenoid is energized.
The 17061769 Solenoid and attaching hardware:

I think the number assigned for the 78 in the parts catalog is the number stamped into the bracket.
On the GM #17061769 it was printed in black ink on the barrel of the solenoid housing.
Anyway, here are several e-bay that should work as a replacement 77-80.

The number you list is not a 1978 Corvette application. Those numbers range from 17058202 thru 17058228 and 85xx numbers. The date code of 2178 is the 217th day of 1978 or August 5th. My 1978 Corvette is an original L48 with A/C (same as yours) and the carb is 17058204. It is also not a 79 application...those numbers starting with 1705 but the series runs with 9xxx numbers. Its probably a correct service replacement.

Hope this helps!
