Windage trays...how many use em?
Well, since I'm getting ready to do this engine swap next week I'm thinking about a windage tray. I have one on the stang. This will be my only opportunity to put one on. Do they help that much? I've heard claims of 10 to 15 hp. Is that about right? thanks

I'm putting in a crate motor. Are you saying the stock motor in my vette(L48) will have a windage tray in it?

I am interested to know the results of the L-48 question. I thought only L-82's came with trays. For what it is worth I have always used trays on any engine I have built. For a couple of motors I used scrapers also. I think they help if you are running hard.

Perhaps I made an assumption that was not valid. I assumed that all Corvette motors had them. Maybe not!

Paul 79 IN Late models C-3's only L-82's came with upgraded motor parts like the four bolt main and factory windage tray.

Thanks for the info gkull. I guess I will look around for one. Oreilly can order me one, but have to buy the pan. Either miloden or moroso.
