Hi Thank you for looking -- I have a 1970 Corvette and I replaced the wiper motor because it did not have a wiper motor in it when I got it. I have no power coming from the firewall on the red wire with a white stripe. I checked the fuse and connection behind firewall plug, both are good. I can hotwire at the firewall (red wire with whitestripe) with positive power and the wipers work correctly. Please help me with what I am overlooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: PLEASE HELP WITH WIPER PROBLEM (Love My 72 and 77)
not sure if I understand exactly which wires you are referring to, however if you have tested the wires to be good - my guess is the actual switch is bad. If that is not it check your ground wire as a lot of wiper problems stem from a bad ground. I haven't worked on wipers for quite some time now.
Re: PLEASE HELP WITH WIPER PROBLEM (Love My 72 and 77)
Be sure the wiper door limit switch is not only fully depressed, but that it is functional. This switch supplies power to the red wire you speak of, but only with the wiper door fully open, depressing the switch.
