I have the in dash clock and a clock in my new radio. I also have a "turn off" **** on the battery which I have been using since the car does sit for four or five days sometimes.
Just wondering if I did not use the "turn off" anymore how long would the battery hold up?
Re: How Long Before Clocks Will Kill Battery? (OHSIXX)
Probably about a month. My car sits still for about that long sometimes and it has an alarm system and radio clock and will still start up OK. It sat still once for a little over 2 months though and it killed the battery. I need to invest in a cutoff switch for when I plan to leave it sitting for that long.

Sometimes the alternator will cause battery drain....if you don't have a battery cut off switch....Get one. A battery cut off switch should always be used in our cars since a fire will re-ignite soon after smoothering with a fire extinguesher......Leave your battery hooked up....and touch a screw driver to the body of your alternator.....if the screw driver sticks like there's some magnetism.....It's best you have a battery cut off switch.....and use it every time you're away from your car......It's a safe bet your car will not be in a ball of melted fiberglass when you return..... :seeya Cappy
