As MelWif stated, the stock wheels are 4" bs. The more bs, the more the wheel will tuck in given the same wheel width such as the stock 8". I never worry about offset. Its all about the bs.
Most other Chevys are designed for zero offset wheels but not the corvette.
So that means all the "commonly" available GM (and aftermarket) "for GM" wheels do not fit our car too well.
Zero offset on an 8 inch wheel is 4.5" ( you have to add 1" to the inside width to get the outside width first)
So an 8" wheel (inside lip width) is 9" (outside width) Backspace works from outer wheel lip.
C3s like an -.5" offset (out) so the inside backspace is only 4.0". The outside (frontspace) would be 5.0" These wheels frequently rub fenders on other chevys.
i ordered vision wheels off ebay with -6 offset and 4.25" backspacing. the same specs as the ecklers ones they advert FOR c3 corvettes. they were really discounted, $240 shipped for 4
then i ordered a trim ring and center cap package from ecklers for $260 with the GM licensed derby caps

Im 95% sure this is the offset my vision wheels have and I did use the 1/4" spacers with the appropriate lug nuts for them. no issues in the 3 or so years ive had them on the car. I have these although I dont remember the backspacing exactly. https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Vision-14...gAAOSwzcdfm6yd
I do remember they were only about $450 with shipping 3 years ago. of course im also running tires that were only $50 new each from falkens parent company ohtsu.. They happen to own and run the former dunlop tire around the corner from the tonawanda GM plant where many vette engines were made. Now that goodyear sold them off sumitomo has done good things for them so I figured why not.

Augiedoggy,
I used to buy all my tires at Dunn Tire when I lived in Tonnawanda back when the Dunlops was still local. Sorry to see them go.
OFF TOPIC,
The original owner of Dunn sold it and started another tire store in NT(Big D tire) on the corner of island st and river road. I think even that is under new ownership now as well. I was not aware they were affiliated with Dunlop. Dunlop was one of my customers at work along with gm at one time.. Sumitommo owned dunlop years ago and sold them to Goodyear who if you talk to many of the folks that work there, did not do much good for them. Then Goodyear sold Dunlop back to Sumitommo. The couple people I know that work there now say that sumitommo has done a lot of good for the Tonawanda plant.
I used to have Faulken tires (also made by them) on my c4 and had them for about 10 years. They were still on the car when I sold it. I bought the tires below because the price was right but I have no complaints, I was always amazed at how many different off brands Dunlop manufacturered.
Anyway..Sorry, back on topic. Curious to see how these rims work out and fit with the Ecklers hardware.

Off Topic - Augiedoggie,
The "local" reference was just to the old Dunlop tire plant in Tonnawanda. They still make a variety of brands there for the current company owners.
I do not think Dunn Tire was ever related to Dunlop. I still have a set of 1984 Dunlop GT Qualifiers bought from Dunn Tire but they are just used for rollers these days . Not safe to drive on anymore.
