Been working on my 73 trying to get the wipers to work correctly. Got the wiper motor to work but I have problems. The wiper switch works backward. With the switch in the off position the wipers work. Middle position they also work. Pushing the switch to the right the wipers park. Looks like I have the switch wired correctly. The pigtail at the motor is hard to plug in but I think it is correct. The wiper motor is new.
IIRC the wiper switch has a tab on it that doesn't quite prevent you from plugging it in the wrong way around, should be the light blue towards the passenger side
First of all thanks for the pictures. I found two things wrong wrong with my wipers.. The wiper switch was installed correctly but it did not have a ground wire on the switch screw. Also the motor 3 wire plug was installed backwards. Black wire was installed next to the gnd strap. I see from the diagram it should have the blue wire next to the strap. I will repost when I get it sorted out.
Sorry, was just using that to show the switch orientation. Not one of mine .
the switch is grounded through the wiper bezel which is screwed to the main bezel which is grounded down at the gauges, and that thin section between is frequently broken which is the only ground path so sometimes people add a separate ground wire as shown.
