Default Rear calipers questions

I want to change my both rear calipers (original lips calipers) with O-ring and SS sleeves.

At first time, I wanted to order the new GM restoration parts. But I've seen that they are not in USA manufactured (read : in China ?).
On the other hand, the remanufactured ones are rebuilt in USA (say ZIP).
I've read that Lonestar new calipers are very good, but unfortunately, it seems that LS has closed their doors...

so I don't really know what to do... Buying some new parts and trust GM Restoration logo or buy remanufactured parts ?

Thanks.

Lonestar hasn’t closed their doors. I just ordered rears from them the other day. Their website was down. Apparently it’s normal for them to take down their website entirely when they are revamping their catalogs etc. it’s back up today. http://www.lonestarcaliper.com/

Mine sits more than driven have had ZERO failure.. Nice people to deal with too

Thanks.
Most of the Corvette parts houses like ZIP are just middle-persons between Lonestar and the end user. My calipers, purchased through Corvette Central last Spring were rebuilt by Lonestar. You can purchase directly from Lonestar but there really isn't a price advantage and the kit prices through the parts houses are quite attractive.

I rebuilt my stock brakes on my 74 about 6 years ago with stock lip seals from the local autozone for like $17. in the process I installed the front passenger caliper pad incorrectly and it shifted and cocked the piston in the bore. So I went to my local "advance auto" and purchased a manufactured caliper for about $75 (I do not remember where it was made or re-manufactured but likely overseas) I was delighted to see the pistons themselves were made of stainless and not aluminum like my originals seemed to be and the caliper was sleeved. Also I dont know if the used some sort of clearcoat or treatment on them or they themselves are made of stainless because to this day 6 years later that caliper is still shiny and new without a single bit of rust anywhere on it even though its spent many a rainy nights outside. I kinda wish I had replaced all four now but Ive had no brake issues with them since (my booster on the other hand failed 2 years later)

What year car do you have? There are several casting differences between the years 65-66, 67-72 and 73-sub.

Thanks all :-)

My LT-1 is a 72. I've checked by ZIP : the numbers are correct according to NCRS guide.
The advantage to order directly by Lonestar is that you're sure the parts are correct. But if you ask by ZIP or Corvette Central, they will certainly provide the good parts too.

I've asked Lonestar during Christmas holiday. I'm going to wait until next week.
