Default cable to hydraulic clutch

I currently have a cable McLeod clutch in my 69 with Richmond 5 speed. My mechanic says to make this work, he would have to cut a hole out in my floor board. I REALLY want to avoid this, and he says that if I go with a hydraulic cluth this could be avoided. Anyone know what it takes to convert a cable clutch to a hydraulic one, and approximately how much it would cost? Thanks!

no youd need the clutch master cylinder too and you would have to make linkage to get it to work.let me see if i can find a picture for you.

For my 75 corvette I used the hydraulic clutch from a 85 one ton truck. Other then a slight linkage modification it bolted right onto the firewall of my car without needing to do anything. Where the mechanical linkage passes through the firewall the new master cylinder bolted right up. I also used a bellhousing with a slave cylinder mount on it's side. For a slave cylinder I used the 85 one ton but any donar car will have it's own slave cylinder. To join the slave cylinder and the master cylinder use a brake line.
