I rebuilt my leaf a while ago and its still straight and looks great I dont have the rebound clamps ,, if anything I would think the ride would be stiffer with the clamps no !!
I just bought the Eaton 7 Leaf via Zip and the Rebound Clamps are on it. I am asking if anyone has put this spring on their car and 1) removed the clamps and 2) How did you remove them?
The new spring is raw steel and needs to be primed and galvanized and with the clamps on it makes it a harder.
Here is an option if the spring is way too stiff Mr. Forman
There was a poster on here over 5-6 yrs ago that did not like how his new spring rode so high and stiff.
He took the new spring off and laid it side-by-side with the old on the garage floor.
With the band clamps removed, he incorporated new & old leaf assembly.
Starting at the bottom, new leaf of course, then an old leaf, new leaf and so on.
Said he had the perfect arch, perfect height, perfect ride.
