So, I have a 69 427 auto car that currently has a 454 with a mild build, pretending to be a 427. The 454 is a 1971 with stock manifolds.
I believe the right is the same and the left manifold is different on the 71 454 and 69 427. Question is, if I buy a exhaust system for a 1971 454, will it work for the 1969 rear exhaust exits? Do they have the same mufflers? Rear pipes? Or am I going to have to mix and match parts?
Thanks!
Just so you know all 1969 Corvette's had 2" exhaust pipes. A 1971 Corvette 454 had 2 1/2" pipes but the exit from the muffler is 2" so the tips should work fine. If they have not changed it out the pipe hanger at the trans would have to be a 2 1/2" design. Original 1969 2" mufflers were a different part number then the 2 1/2" 1971.

The engine, transmission and pipe hangars are all 1971 454 corvette. So 2-1/2”.
So, the muffler exit is 2” on both 69 427 and 71 454?
