Yes, we have the right to but having been on eBay since it's humble beginnings, I find that it is frowned upon. I am also curious to see where it goes. If someone wins the car, I will take the cash & call it a sale. If they don't, I keep it & upgrade to a 4L80E. I don't feel that anyone is being led on because if they win it, they win it. I'm not convinced it will sell.
SO who's up for Pinging Ebay so no one can win the bid???? I AM.
Thats funny, last week I was told that my job as a Finance Investigator for UPS is now being relocated to Asuza California. I was totally set to lose the job all together. It's really odd the things that go through your head when this happens. But I am still okay for the time being. I stopped racking up my Credit cards, paid them all off in a day. Then they told me that I am going to be moved to a specalists position. So I am happy again and as a reward I went out and bought a new 6 foot Tool chest last night from sears.
542c2, how is your Dyno setup? is it in the ground? or is it a lift style design?

That's the spirit Steve! You just hold on to that dream of yours and live (drive) the dream for the rest of your live! And this forum needs guys like you to keep the rest of us going. You've been a huge inspiration throughout my project (we started our projects around the same time) and you helped me get top marks in a school project so thanks for that! Keep us posted on how the tranny swap is going.... Talk to you soon!
Steve,
I seem to recall that 69myway extended his drivers footwell when he built his car. It might still be difficult to get in and out of, but it would certainly be more comfortable and safer to drive. Another option is to lower the floorpan under the drivers seat a bit. You might be able to squeeze out an inch or two.
Thats the problem with being on a mission. You get things done, but on retrospect, you wish you had waited. I know all about that...
1974 Dual Blown 1,200+HP Convertible Corvette..... I was shooting for 9 second quarters, 1.00+ g handling & top speeds of over 200MPH- all on street tires with no tire change required
Steve, I haven't been around too much lately and have missed plenty posts so forgive me if I am repeating questions. Have you / are you planning on testing any of your original goals before you sell the car? I am very sad (disappointed) to see the car for sale on ebay. I probably am not the only one who feels this way but we have been romanced for over 2 years with the supercar that is a vette and a C3 none the less and now that it is complete we haven't even gotten a chance to see it run a 1/4 mile or a 200 MPH run on the salt flats or a 1 G session on a skidpad. I don't doubt that the car could do all of the above, but it is like being talked dirty to for two years and promised the best ride ever by the most unbelievable woman we could dream of and right before ..... she gets up and leaves. Even if it isn't you driving, it would be nice to have a little closure before the car is sold.
Steve,
Ive had your vette on my desktop for over a year now. It is a work of art, so please don't sell. Go for a custom automatic, perhaps a six speed and just drive it for a while. Then you won't hit your leg shifting it. Just your head on the roll bar

Last time a woman talked dirty to me, she was cussing me out.....I was glad she left.....or there's no telling what I would have done to her after picking myself off the ground...... :D :seeya Cappy
Ok, this thread has gotten way too long for me to keep up with, but are you acutally considering keeping the car if it doesn't sell on ebay now and maybe putting a 4L80E in it? If you are, more power to you  :D :D :D

Your not helping :mad  :jester (kidding) that sounds like a drama filled story, so i'll not get into that one. :D
79 Prowler Orange said it well…… with his new 'bowing 'smiley face'
But - as they say, "I enjoyed 'the ride' ". It was an adventure - FOR ALL OF US. Thanks and best of luck at Microsoft - maybe you can enhance the software to work like the Merlin;
Steve,
I'm very sad to see this happen. I hope you will at least get interest from magazines and have an article done if the vette doesn't sell on E-bay. You would get a lot more interest generated from Corvette Fever, or Hot Rod, or even Chevy High Performance. The type of people that would be interested in the vette will probably read those mags. You owe it to yourself to at least get noted in a magazine for all the money, work, and stress that has gone into Merlin. I hope you get as much as absolutely possible out of the vette. I hate to see you sell it.

Looks like the bidding has slowed down for you. That could be a blessing. I for one would love to see you keep the car and make it work for you. Autos can be worked these days to perform very well. I am going the other way. I am trying to sell my L-82 so I can get a six speed. Good luck with either way you go but I for one would enjoy the car for many years.
