So I have new correct 2 piece weatherstripping for my 69. The outer piece with the metal in it is supposed to screw into the TTop in 4 places. However, on mine it just 4 empty holes inside the Ttop. How can this be repaired? Would riv nuts or similar work, although I guess I do need to have the slotted hole for adjustability.
Interstingly enough, I don’t hear any of the brackets that had to be inside the top originally rattling around, so obviously someone has been here before. Ugh, this car just keeps getting me. Thanks!

I JUST WALKED IN THE HOUSE FROM LOOKING AT MY 70 TTOPS THE SEALS CAME FROM Steele rubber product nice rubber but I need one more hole in front of that trim you are talking about so I purched the 4 screws that should just screw in if they don't all I know is that trim needs to be adjust to the car before you cement it down no room for rivets but maybe the same type screw just a little bigger now make sure you clean the seal with alcohol plus the ttops then run a small bead on the tops where just the pins go in wait about 20 min then just put sealer on the 3 side of the top where you put the seal on NOT where the trim is plus tape the corners down over night then put the tops on the car then you can adjust the trim to your window then put tape on the trim and mark it so you will know when you take the top off you will know where to put that trim screw it down an seal good luck and take your time
Thanks Bobby. Not sure how I am going to attack this. Maybe a well nut or the old standby drywall anchors. Curious what others have done as we can’t be the only ones!
You caint put a bigger same type screw in the same place but worse comes after you figure out where the trim goes you can just seal it down just me thinking no one will see it and won't move
So to put this to bed, I used 4, 1/2 inch long, 8-32 threaded rubber expansion nuts. Had to force them down the holes but they held great, and with the screws started in them I could pull them back and forth for adjustment. Worked great!
