I need to remove the upper corner moldings on my 68'. I pin pointed water leaks originating underneath this area but I am hesitant to mess with it since the corners have never been taken off before. Not sure how easy it is to remove and reinstall. Any tips or suggests on this?

First it is not hard to do but you'll need to dismantle the trim completely in order to remove them. There are 2 Phillip head screws which will not come out without the windshield removed.
The car is "old" and depending on history prone the heavy rust in which the only thing holding the window frame together is quite possibly the trim.
Read this how to guide. It can be done but are you willing to get it done ? You never know what you'll find, could be good metal or really bad rusted metal. https://tech.corvettecentral.com/200...d-replacement/
I believe the OP is asking about the fender molding removal, although you are spot on the windshield also. Unfortunately just
removing the fender corner molding will get you nowhere as far as water leaks. The molding just sits on top the fender and is
help on with a screw or rivet an clips.
If you have water getting into the interior through the cowl somewhere then the sealant is most likely dried out or you have other rust
type issues. To really get to that area properly the front clip needs to be removed.
Sorry.....
Back in the 80's & 90's it wasn't uncommon for some shops to insist on removing these corners to be able to insect the birdcage in this area. Typically when removing the windshield as part of a major repaint. I heard a few insist it was the only way to guarantee there would be no windshield leaks.
There are actually three separate layers of stamped sheet metal spot welded together in this area as part of the birdcage and I have seen rust through all three in some birdcages.
