I'm doing an auto to T56 6 speed transmission conversion, using a slightly modified stock transmission bracket. The T56 is out of a 1997 trans am.. Now that I'm putting everything back together, the parking brake cable seems closer than before to the transmission yoke u-joint.
The transmission mount wasn't changed at all where the parking brake pulley wheel is attached. Only thing done was the pad where the trans bolts into was cut out and lowered a little bit.
I'm not sure if it's acceptable being this close.
It's probably 1/2 inch from the widest part of the u joint.
Anybody ever just use a hammer to bend the pulley bracket a little bit?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
