I just bought a 73 Convertible, haven't owned one since 1983. My questions are, what color was the factory bonding adhesive and how many 73 converts had air conditioning. Thanks

I'm not sure you're going to get a definitive answer to your question about Air Conditioning. 21,578 out of 30,464 Corvettes came with A/C or approximately 71% in 1973. This might lead you to conclude that approximately 3500 (71% 0f 4,943 built) came with A/C. The reality is that many that ordered convertibles back then saw no need for A/C - because they were convertibles. My personal experience is that the number of convertibles ordered with A/C is likely less that 50%.
Having said all that, one thing I'm seeing quite frequently today across the board with many cars of that era is the addition of A/C. It seems that in may cases as we age we find the presence of A/C more essential to the enjoyment of these cars than we did back in the era.
Good luck and welcome aboard the Corvette Forum... GUSTO
My 73 Convertible has factory AC. On my car the factory bonding compound was a light grey color. My 73 is a L-82 with factory M-21 and 3:55 rear end. It also has the factory PS and PB.

Mine has brown bonding adhesive. Car was bought as 62,000 original mile survivor and I'm just trying to verify it. Trying to upload pictures but haven't figured out how yet.
