Default Throttle return spring setup for Holley 4150

Wanted to see if any of you guys have any thoughts or recommendations on throttle return spring setups for a Holley 4150 carb on a big block. So many options out there. Not sure what works well particularly if you have to run a drop base air cleaner.

I just installed an Edelbrock torker 2 and 4150 on my 427. Used the throttle cable, bracket and return springs from lokar and was a direct bolt together. Only thing I had to do was use a couple of washers to size down the hole in the firewall. Return springs worked great.

I honestly just bought the 68-72 GM for Holleys for my 4150 and standard return spring and I have no issues. No reason to get complicated.

Do you have any additional info, part numbers, or places to look etc? I’m a fan of simple if it works.

What I found was if you are switching from Rochester to Holley the original style clamp tight cable won’t work. This is why I went lokar, mines a ‘68.

corvettemods part number 13512. It’s a repro part for all Holley carbs except the tri power.

basically if you replace your quadrajet with a Holley four barrel this bracket is the way to go. I believe they may also sell a kit with the spring included.

I had been fighting with mine and I didn’t want the larger lokar or other units that take up space under the cleaner and then I found this. It actually fits into notch on the throttle body. Easy peasy.

I’ve found personally it’s a dead tossup wether you’ll receive a part ordered from the above mentioned supplier. If they are the only one listing a part, I consider it to be not available, and look for an alternative to the problem.

they aren’t the only place that carries it and I just bought mine and received it no issues. There are several listed on eBay. 68-72 corvette Holley bracket. Should have no issues finding it

Summit and Jegs offer lots of options.
Id use a dual spring set up, had one slip out of its hole, sure woke me up
Most have a smaller dia spring that slips inside the larget one.

the lokar setup in place on mine, ample room under a drop base air cleaner.

youre running an aftermarket throttle cable though correct? My suggestion is the least invasive option. If you’re using the stock throttle cable and want to switch to the 4150/4160 then this bracket is the easiest route.

yours is pretty though. Like it!! And it is pretty minimal compared to others I have seen.

Thanks I dig it too! I didn’t care for the look or really the operation of the “pinched” cable set up. I found it easier to use the black Lokar cable and bracket. Non factory intake carb and manifold so I figured why bother with the old cable setup. Works great, snaps back great and WOT was simple to set.
