Default Tach Connector and wiring 1977 model

The brown wire that comes from the distributor is cut about 4 inches from the cap. I cannot see another wire that it would connect to. Can anyone tell me where connector C115 is located> If I can find that then I might be able to find my missing wire. Also can anyone confirm that fusible link B on an early model 1977 is located under the master cylinder? The electrical troubleshooting manual doesn't indicate the location. Any idea where I can find a wiring diagram for this model? Thanks in advance for any assistance..

I'm assuming its a radio-equipped car and the capacitor is missing that provides surge suppression?

I'm wondering if that fusible link B has something to do with cruise control. It had two functions (HOLD & ENGAGE). Later replacement transducers were wired for a third DASH light, not used in early 1977 cars.

See if the attached helps. Its from the yet to be published 3rd edition of the NCRS technical information manual

It should reach if there is a connector, originally there was a tach filter bolted to the intake manifold the brown tach wire plugged into, the other side of tach filter plugged into the distributor.
C115 is the firewall bulkhead connector.
The brown tachometer wire will be in the Engine Harness side.
Yes, fuse-link B will be on the Forward Lamp Harness just after C115 bulkhead connector.
Not sure what electrical manual you have but on Page 5 of the 1977 Corvette Electrical Troubleshooting Manual Figure A it shows both. Figure A is Early Build, Figure B is Late Build.

Something else that might be added to the manual in this section: The coil pack cover should be date coded. It was branded at the same time distributor was assembled.
This is from my 77.
Also, I think your got your numbers crossed on the 77 Distributor numbers. FED L48 Both Manual & Automatic is 1103246 and California emissions Automatic is 1103248.

there is a capacitor mounted on the intake manifold near the distributor. It has a plug in connector with 2 cavities on one side and one on the other. Lo and behold I follow the wires to the capacitor and find a brown wire cut and taped over next to the other. Thanks for your help. Now to see if it works. Thanks for the distributor info.

Thanks for the info and the lesson (reminder) to read the whole page. I've got a hard copy of that manual but I was hung up on looking at figure B. That's why I thought I might be missing a fusible link at the starter. I've come across other wiring issues but I'm going to tackle them one at a time. Mostly cut wires for unknown reasons. But that's a part of the challenge. At least it runs. That's one less issue to worry about.

That is the "Tach Filter" and quite common for the brown wire to break off from heat fatigue & vibration.
Sometimes the wire can be soldered back on by removing the unit and placing in a vise. Go slow, as not to ruin the innards of the unit.
