It is broken. The bottom 4 circular pieces in the last picture should be riveted together with the plastic rivets.

Beware, I just bought those rivets from Paragon to repair my 69’s original upper contact and they weren’t even close to working or fitting. Rivets just pushed straight through the hole. I went to Ace hardware and bought three plastic screws and nuts. Works perfect! Sand those pieces really well to get any rust off too!

Don’t worry that the plastic screws and nuts will seem really big. There is plenty of room as you will see and they work great.

looks like it clears thanks..
2 bucks for screws..
my only concern is that contact spring. There is a black sleeve that can index in white plastic part..i can push it in by hand into the groove but no way is the tab pushing it in anywhere that deep.. but it works!

That black part does not index into white part..i can push it in by hand but no way is the metal bracket pushing it that far

One screw just clears..suppose you could cut if needed

after evaporust

Yep you are good. Looks great. Yea you could grind it a little if you wanted. Good job! Same screws I used. Mine is a standard column so I don’t have that black piece.
