My '72 has had the irritating small key forever now......I did ask at a key shop about getting a key made with a larger head on it, as the keys in my 'collection' are making it harder to find.....
so watt to do?? change the lock cylinder....fine, takes a large headed key......but what will fit???

Hack the ears off of the key cylinder! (100% facesious)
Or, perhaps, make the key stand out from your full key ring by attaching one of these to the key (50% facesious):

Home Depot had a black oversize key for my 68. The local UPS store guy had some left over GM stock also. You could put those colorful extra plastic piece on them to make more noticeable.
My first thought was, do you actually have the correct square head key used in 72?
The lock cylinder has two ears on it so the head of the key cannot be wider than the space between the ears.

I think Gene wants a way to find his Corvette key among the wad of keys he carries on his belt.
I don't know if they still make them, but there was a time you could have keys made to match the color of your car.
I have a set of green keys to match my BHG.

If the solution is that simple, spray paint the head of the key. Would be nice if he responded to this thread.
