Default 79 ignition heat shield fastener question

Doing some electrical work and took off the heat shields it looks like I got a mismatch of washers and bolts I remember replacing two of the bolts can somebody tell me what the correct hardware is for these I am seeing wingnuts I’m seeing through 77 and I’ve seen through 79 using wing nuts and not using wing nuts.
also is it a lockwasher only? That hole seems awfully large..
wing bolts actually....
my 79 aim shows wing bolts?
thanks for insight.

Go to Illustrations view Gr.9 page 9-36.
Then item 6 Bolt Wing, Gr.9.663 They say 70-76 but my 77 has them and I have seen them on later Vettes.
I could never find a photo of the item 6 GM #9418998 they speak about in the assembly manual. My 77 manual gives the same number as your 79.

79 didn't use wing bolts.
Small bolts in your pic are correct.

thanks all!
i am very glad i was inspecting... my clutch was vibrating and i thought my new clutch was going bad..the entire shaft z bar bolt came loose! The outside bolt.
also the ignition heat shield was almost wore through where the bar attaches to throwout part from it never being installed properly with gap from bar. Had to bend it more.
of course i left my bolt at hardware so i have only i think one original..it is shorter than 1/2 at hardware.
i am curious as zip says e on the head is correct? Mine is 3 lines and 3 letters, it may not be original but maybe..anyone know?
also did it come with lock washers or regular..seems a crappy fit where the wing nuts havea nice centering part..i might go this route ..who knows
my bellhoising bolts all say “j” but does not exist when i tried to find.

Shorter than 1/2 hardware

Odd the 78 AIM shows the wing nuts like the 79 AIM.

The judging manual reads the covers were secured with natural finish hex bolts in both years. No mention of a washer.

On my 77 the L&R upper shielding was attached with the Wing Bolts
My lower V-shielding and spark-plug shielding is attached with same style bolts as ZIP offers with the exception of the Head-mark, mine are of the Boat Anchor with split lock washer.

yup, that bolt is marked woth with many markings and longer..forgot pic before i put it back..

I’m starting to think the transition to metric makes for impossible clarity on type of markings, i bet my bell housing were quick make some more to finish the year..
for sure i think the only way to seat these shields is something like a wing nut with that circle to fit or cover nicely.
the fit on some of these is marginal to start..
they stay with ace hardware and lock washer until effective order for wing nuts unless learn something new
