Cracked headlight housing support
A while back I noticed a crack in one of the forward 'arms' on my driver's side headlight housing support bracket. I knew it was something I should address at some point, but I was busy and didn't get around to it. Today I pulled the car out for a spring start up, and I noticed the driver's side headlight housing was doing a good amount of shaking at idle (in both the closed and open position). It's not shaking like it's going to fall off, but definitely more than normal and more than the passenger's side. It's definitely from the lack of support on one side of the housing, and I need to fix it before the vibration from shaking and added stress on the other side causes more damage.
Just curious to see if anyone else has run into this (obviously someone has) and what your fix was (aside from replacing the support). I'm thinking some JB-weld on the crack, and then attaching a metal strap to reinforce the crack.
I've attached some pictures below:

I took it to a specialist welder and he welded it very nicely.

And that is why they get coroded also. Because of the chemical reaction between iron and aluminum.
But a good welder will know how to do it.
