I swapped some wires on a new engine a few years ago and now the engine doesn’t start. It’s good engine that ran fine on the dyno. I have the diagram of sequence on the dist and plugs. I brought the compression up on number one and started the plug wires in sequence. Not sure where to go from here. This is a stock LS five ignition system.
It's really unclear as to how long it's been since this engine was started?
When you brought the engine up to #1 TDC did you remove the distributor cap to see where the rotor was pointing?

It has been started in the last month. When I’m on the compression stroke(1 cylinder) and the timing is roughly 10 degrees prior, the distributor won’t allow me to start the 1 in the correct spot so everything is one space forward. Shouldn’t be an issue, correct?

you are basically saying the distributor loosened and is no longer having the rotor point roughly to #1 so your distributor timing is way off and wont start. When you are on #1 TDC turn the distributor so the rotor is directly pointing at #1 in the cap then tighten the hold down clamp.
Gents, I’m still working thru this starting issue. I verified I am getting fuel, the bug and distributor cap is new and ran great on the dyno. I verified the wires are in correct order. I’m now not getting any spark at all, or seems it was intermittent before. I’m thinking a ground or hot wire to the ignition is the culprit?
So, I’m going thru this ignition system one item at a time. I checked the values of the stock coil and it was 11.82 on the high side and 2.2 on the low side. Does these numbers seem in line for a stock Delco coil?

yes, they are within spec but what is the voltage at the positive terminal when cranking and when the key is in the run position?
what is the dwell reading when cranking?
check your wires good I bought brand new wires and chased the same problem ,, MSD brand new wires and had to recrimp 3 of them ,,,drove me crazy for a month
