Default Stall converter... does it hurt driveability?

I'm going to have my TH350 rebuilt at some point this winter and I was thinking of putting a stall converter on, but I'll be doing a lot of parallel parking with the car when I take it to work and I'm just curious if that will make it harder to do or not. About 1/3 of my driving is around the downtown area that I work in so it is a lot of turning corners and such trying to find a parking spot, all 25mph and under. Would a stall converter make any of this harder to do?

It does not hurt my car at all....I have a 2400 break a way TCI and in my opinion a great stall ..........If you get over 3000 I would assume that you may run into a small problem with slippage

I assume you mean a HIGHER stall convertor as all convertors have a stall rating. Do you know if a higher stall rating is needed? - what modifications have you made? What stall rating are you thinking about getting?

My Camaro had about 365 hp and I ran a 2100 rpm stall - it felt like a normal car with no problems in any way. If you car is only slightly modified then a higher stall convertor is a waste of money.

Your factory convertor is probably around 1500 stall or so.

I have a 2200 stall converter, and it actually has improved things! The original converter put a LOT more drag on the engine at idle. This one, however, does not. You will notice the difference, but it won't affect the driveability.

The stall speed of a convertor is also affected by the torque of an engine. The same convertor in a big block and small block will vary greatly. There is also flash point. My 3500 stall convertor was putting alot of strain on the brakes by 25-3000 rpm yet stomping it would flash it to 5000 comming out of the hole.

Any time you put a higher stall converter in your car , it is recomended to also install a transmission cooler.

I had no problems using a 3000 stall converter on the street behind a stout Ram Air Pontiac engine in a GTO in a THM 400, but I did use type F fluid and a big cooler. You should be fine.

Where did you install your tranny cooler? And how do they install? what do they attach to? I removed my air condensor so i think i will have alot of room infront of the rad, maybe i'll put it there in the summer. Any pictures of the install?

I installed with zip ties to the front of the Radiator.......It is a small unit that does not take up a lot of space....I completely bypassed the radiator
