Default Cam install in C3 w/ACh

Has anyone installed a cam in late C3 with AC in the car without removing the condenser??

Thanks! Did the hood have to come off to get the condenser out?

Did it with my small block. I think we had to loosen the condenser mounting bolts to gain clearance, but it did not have to come out.

Shark Racer is correct. The cam is a quarter inch too long to clear the A/C condenser. But it Does Not have to come out.

By loosening the brackets I jammed a wood stick between the condenser and the support. Just enough to clear the cam. No need to mess with the A/C hoses either.

Do yourself a favor. Take a Sharpie and trace the outline of the hood hinge on the hood. Get a helper. Both of you should have a ratchet / socket. Jamb a old broom handle in the firewall area to support the hood. Its not heavy, just awkward. Both of you remove one bolt from the hood, hang on, then remove the second one.

You will find without the hood, things LOOK so much better / easier.
