Reinstalling wiper arms that have not been on the car. With the wiper door open (by hand actuator and vacuum system removed). I can turn the overide switch and make the wiper system move. High and low speeds both work. The problem is that the wipers will not shut off and park. When the wiper washer is depressed i can hear the solenoid energize. So it seems that everything works but will not shut off and park. Any ideas on where to start? Thanks!

Yes , the Willcox wiper test pages. Go there and you can do a bench test in the car to see if the park is working. In the AIM they say to keep the windshield wet so there is less drag adn it will help with diagnostics. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/1...er-motor-test/
Actually I found last night that the "park" does work. When i turn my key the wipers come on. Even with the switch over in the off position. That is why the motor would not go into "park." So now the problem is just that. The switch will not turn off the wipers. Planning on starting with the switch first unless someone has a better idea.
good luck hopefully its as easy as replacing the switch, buy it from Willcox as some switches are bad out of he box from other retailers. I believe willcox still tests them before sale, you can call and ask
Glad you got your issue taken care of. My mechanic saved me some money by "fixing" my wiper issue for free. He showed me that my override switch was on. He turned it off and everything works as it should. Huzzah!
On a related note, should I buy replacement wiper blades from anyone specifically?
I've heard some don't fit under the wiper door. I got a recommendation for Eckler's from my shop, and they're right up the road from me.
I've also heard people don't care much for them.
For a part like this would it really matter much?

I cant remember where I got mine but they are very low profile. I hardly ever use them, but its nice to have if you get caught out in a downpour. Mine are they same ones I've had on there for 5 years. Still work fine. I think because they are out of the sun.....it destroys all my other vehicles wipers in one summer
Rookie question, where is the manual override on a ‘69?
Plastic pull lever below the column......one does the headlights, one does the wiper door......when you override the wiper door, it has a foot in the mechanism, off the actuator that closes the main power switch for the wipers...(Red wire with white stripe).
