Hi fixed my rear seal and oil pan leaks last week. Want to attack the transmission next. See the photo pretty bad leak where tail section attaches. Any advice on my options
to approach this without pulling the transmission?
If you are referring to the gasket or O-ring between the rear of the case and the tailshaft housing......
use a degreaser to remove all oil and grime to pinpoint the leak......
find the tail housing bolt torque specs. and retorque the bolts to the high side of the specs....
......cheap&fast.
I had the same problem, took the transmission to shop, they put new gaskets in,.....still leaks. I give up. It will just have to drip on the floor. And people say Harleys leak.....my 2004 Road King never leaves a drop.
