Default Headlight problem

So I just bought my fist corvette it’s a 1979 stingray when I bought it the actuators were bad so I replaced them but the headlights themselves don’t turn on and everything else but the radio works and for the life of me I can’t find the issue has anyone else had this happen

Did you check for a blown fuse?
Do you have power at the fuse?

Do you have front, side and rear lights if you pull the headlight switch just one click?

With headlight switch pulled out 2 clicks, crawl under the steering column you should see the dimmer switch.
With a meter or probe light test the YELLOW wire to ground. You should get line voltage or a light if using a probe.
This is what the dimmer switch looks like

The column access may be blocked with a section of HVAC duct work that may require removal.

Not to be snarky, but you have power to the dimmer or not...

If you have no power at the dimmer,
Time to pull your Tachometer Speedometer cluster to check the 3.0 mm (Large Red) wire for voltage at the headlight switch.
I own a 77 so I'm no help pulling that assembly on your 79.

There should be power to the 3.0mm Red wire any time the battery is connected.
If you have power to the switch (red wire) and none to the dimmer it's most likely the switch.

It sounds like the switch is partially working just not the headlight portion of the switch.

Found 2C circuit.
There is a Black/White 6 cell plastic connector housing near the distributor, circuits 2G in, 2C out
This connector is prone to overheating and melting.
This connector is inside the Lt.Blue box on the drawing below.

Here is a colored drawing from a late 77 headlight switch.
The wire colors may differ a little, the drawing to the light switch is the same for your 79.
You will see a C403 on the drawing, that will be the 6 cell wire connector I noted above. Circuit 2, your 79 is labeled 2C.
C115 is the bulkhead connector.
