Can someone explain the workings of this fuel filter? This is the second time I've seen this.
Is it for emissions? Sorry for the small pic. It sits in front of the engine verticly and has 2 lines running into the top.
Thanks

I really can't see the pic,, but from your description it sounds like an original fuel filter. There are two functions of the filter,,,, 1. to filter the fuel. 2. to assist as a fuel return line. Number 2 being most important. I had lots of hot fuel issues with the car not starting. I hooked the original filter and fuel return line and haven't had an issue since. GM knew what they were doing in 1968.
Any idea what year the car is? The image is a tiny thumbnail
Are you talking this type of setup?
if so then as kodpkd says it's the return
M
Thats it. The first time I saw it I thought it was jerry rigged. The second time I figured it was factory, I've owned a few C3's but never saw this setup before.
Thanks for the info
I made a bracket like the stock one. My issue is with the fuel lines. If I redo the fuel lines it would fit. Maybe next winter. Mine is a 68, no air pump.
