you are in tonowanda. are your cans chevy orange? maybe GMC. General Microbrew Co.
We are in North Tonawanda on the other side of the canal but no chevy orange cans.. at least not yet..
Our branding actually pays homage to a brewery that existed in Tonawanda for about 80 years.
General Microbrew Co would be a clever play on GMC though..

Those days are long gone Almost all those bars have been converted to apartments.
We do have a dark muddy New England IPA we call "Canal Water" and one Called "Roostertail" that pays homage to the glory days of the Niagara river boat races.

Google says big hydroplane races Aug 6 & 7 2021 on Niagara River. What kinda boats did they race before?
Back in the 70s they use to race drag boats right by downtown Austin, TX during Aquafest. That was some gnarly stuff to watch (hear) if I remember correctly (don't remember that much from the 70s). Years later they shut them down due to the beautiful people living near/on Town Lake complaining about the noise.

They still have them but they just dont draw the same type of crowds as they did back in the day when they were a really big deal... Things were a little different back in the day as well with less regulation from what ive been told as well. I hear the boats every year since I live 2 blocks from the river myself... It doesnt bother me. Like having railroad tracks a couple blocks away, ive grown up with it as Ive purchased the house I grew up in.
I should clarify that "Roostertail" is a cream ale brewed with orange peel to pay homage to two boats in particular "Miss Jenny" and "Orange Crush" that used to battle it out in the hay days.

Yeah that was cool back before cable. The networks would televise the unlimited hydroplanes ala Miss Budweiser and the Reno Air Races every year. They both probably still televised on one of my 1047 cable channels somewhere.

Real fun to watch amatures racing thier fancy cigarette boats back in the day. Ralph Santangelo was a hair salon owner and had a big boat. I remember watching it start to lift up and get crazy dancing around in the air. Looked like it would end upside down before he backed out of it.
