1980 BW 4 speed overhaul (Help please)
After 3 weeks of waiting for my Borg Warner overhaul kit for my tranny, last Wednesday I was able to take my car in to tranny mechanic to get it worked on. Today(Saturday) I get a call from the mechanic and he says car is ready but now is does a weird shake when the clutch is engaged.
Mechanic says there is probably something wrong with the engine. I told him no, why does this only happen when I engage the clutch? I am sorry but I can't leave with the car when it is acting like this, I am afraid it might cause some damage to my engine.Sorry I said all that to get to this: The car had all the gaskets and synchro's replaced and mechanic said go buy the clutch, pressure plate, and that he would resurface the flywheel. I was fortunate that O'reillys had them in stock. There was a heavy duty package and a standard package. I opted for the HD package. Below is a picture of original alongside the new HD one. The are both 11" except one pops out a little more in the center than the other. What could be causing this erratic shake?

This is the original alongside new replacement. Should I be worried about center pop up sleeve? Could that be what is causing the erratic shake?
is it vibrating when clutch out in neutral? Could be input bearing..
here is my journey

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
read that article and tell which it is for you..Pilot Bushings and Bearings
To check for a noisy pilot bushing, begin listening for noise after starting the engine. Listen for noise with the engine running, the transmission in gear, and the clutch pedal to the floor. The clutch is released, but the transmission is in gear, which causes the engine crankshaft to spin around the held transmission input shaft. Noise under these conditions indicates a worn pilot bushing or bearing, or a worn release bearing.
To isolate the pilot bushing or bearing from the release bearing, keep the clutch pedal on the floor and shift the transmission into neutral. If the noise persists, the release bearing is defective since the input shaft is now free to rotate. A bearing noise that occurs if you release the pedal to engage the clutch while in neutral, but goes away when the pedal is depressed, is caused by a defect on the transmission’s input shaft bearing.
