A little more penetrating spray... And some new crows foot line wrenches (thanks for the suggestion) on a wratchet extension on a breaker bar... Got one of them broken free!
I have all stainless lines and fittings on my 68 with no sealing problems. I was told, on the forum, to use all new brass connection/distribution blocks, which I did. The recommended technique was to tighten the fittings snuggly, then slightly unscrew them, thighten again, slightly loosen them, and then tighten them tight to the recommended torque. The tightening, loosening, thightening process, etc is to seat the SS double flared "lips" into the brass. Use/buy tubing wrenches to tighten the fittings. Tightening the fittings at the brass block near the frame kickup/trailing arm connection was a tight fit. I had to have a hand held tube wrench heeted redhot with a torch and bent slightly to get good "purchase" to tighten the fitting on the 68.
Be aware that the steel brakes lines can rust from the inside. After 40 years, the brakes lines on my low mileage So Cal 68 car, looked very good. Cutting them open revealed that the inside walls were coated with a reddish brown gel......rust.
Good suggestion by LT1Vette to lightly lube the threads of the line fittings.
