I have a differential which I plan to rebuild or have rebuilt. I've debated about painting it with Cast Blast or I can approximate that look with powder coating. Which do you feel is more attractive? The car is arrely driven and never in rain or bad weather so I'm not really concerned with durability.
I blast, etch, POR15 and then cast blast them. It takes time but I like it better than powder coating. For "correct" builds they are blasted and RPM'd to maintain original appearance and offer protection.
The more important thing is not the finish but the internals. There is a huge difference between a common stock build and one correctly setup. That is where I would be focusing my attention otherwise you may end up with the nicest looking scrap around.
