Default Finally in the Shop!

After a few years in the driveway, my 74 is in the shop.
My first goal is to make it drivable as a second car if needed.
The old 15" tires will not last long.

I'm thinking about some later year wheels?
Perhaps 18x8 and 18x9.5 or 19x9.5?
What are my options w/o going to a set of mismatched wheels?

Then I have to think about what's next? lol

TIA

Check the first sticky in this column about updated wheels and tires. There's enough info there to keep you scrolling for days!

You wanna be able to rotate wheels front-to-rear?
Buy tires and wheels that will fit the front suspension without rubbing on fender, frame or calipers....then you will have no problem rotating them yearly.

So get the info from the stickied thread on it lol..
Seriously though I put 18x8.5 wheels on my car about 5 years ago now.. its also a 74. I used either 1/4" or 1/2' spacers I believe, not because I needed them but because I liked the look better with the tire closer to the fender I dont remember the specs of my wheels which is why I didnt comment earlier other than they were either 4.5 or 4.75 BS and they were this brand and style. https://www.ebay.com/itm/13317717513...UAAOSwctNdg8b2 I did put the exact info in the stickied wheel and tire thread though after I installed them.

5 years ago they were only $450 for the set of 4 shipped... got to love inflation.

Just to prove I'm not lazy, I spent a couple of hours on the wheels/tires sticky. lol
Most people have 17/18 w/C5 wheels.
I didn't see anything that made me want to spend money.
I'll now them when I see them!

Except for some BBS wheels, they were 15".
If they were not so expensive! OMG

Not a bad wheel for the price!
18*8.5
5.5" BSP or 20mm (3/4") offset, deeper on the inside.
Stock vette 15x8 wheels were neg 1/2" (-12mm) offset (to the outside) with a 4.0" bsp. So I could see where you would have to add a spacer. But at least that way you could center them how you like!

After I get it running properly, I want to get the windows operating.
I have a removable rear window to put in.
I want to drive the car for a while to see how it does.
I don't want to sink a lot of money into a car I will not drive much?

More advice will be necessary! lol

Default Better Exhaust!

The 2" Rams Horn manifolds are weak at best.
So I decided to upgrade to 2.5" manifolds.
The stk 2.25 ex pipes were a mess.
Went w/2.5 Pypes for 73, joined in the middle.

My engine did 280 rwhp at 5200 before running out of air.
315 rwtq was 4100.
I am hoping for 300 rwhp and 325 rwtq?
We shall see how much improvement I get?
I have wondered about this for a while! lol
