Hi, I just joined this forum, I have a 79' L82, I got a great buy on this car and have put alot of money into it, and alot of my time, but the previous owner of the car did a very poor paint job, and I want to pick a color that will really grab peoples attention, I got a House of Kolor paint book but am having a hard time desiding what color top use and what effects to give it, does anyone have any input or experience with this kind of stuff, any help would be much appreciated, also I need to know how to add a picture of my car to my posts, i am sure it is very easy to do, i am just ignorant
Hi Corndogg :seeya And welcome to the greatest Corvette place on the earth.....
What you need to do is go to a car show, and just see what makes you go WOW !!!!!...
Then take a couple of pictures, and see what you can do with them...
Don't be afraid to copycat someones paint job. yours will be unique to you...
And be sure to keep us posted on what you decide to do...We love pictures.
As for posting a pic, you need to have it stored on a web site, there are lots of free places that will let you store pictures, then just add the link to you post when you want.
As far as the paint job ,I wouldnt pick any candy colors or three stage paint jobs like you see in the House of Kolor chip book.#1 you are going to pay through the azz for it ,#2 if it gets nicked ,scratched or wrecked it is a pita to match. As far as the pics ,Im an idiot ,I havent figured it out either. :seeya Welcome to the forum
well i think the dual quads sticking through the hood will grab some attention before a bright color will. :yesnod: nice vette.i did my old 79 vette candy tangerine, house of colors paint.
Nice looking car Corndog. I was wondering though when you are gonna be able to drive it. A supervisor where I work just quit a month ago to go back to Brainard.
He worked in the paper mill there and came to our mill a couple years ago. He said it never got warm there and he missed snowmobiling. Here in Michigan we
are within a few years of being the new sunshine state. Goodyear makes a tire
UWEagle recomended on all four corners in winter. I use them on my Seville
all year around. You might look into them, he said it snows all year around. Steve
Thanks, next year I hope, i had an unfortunate accident this fall with the car, but i am learning how to fix my car, and I have to replace my tranny, my father talked me into buying a 700r4, wich i am being told time and time again that it is not a good transmition, yeah the paper mill here went out of business this year, i plan on running it next year at CBIR at our show and go event... thanks for all your posts
The color(s) on my 76 seem to get a lot of attention. But I am with Pat on the dual quads:thumbs:   click on the pic to get a better view.
