Hi folks. Noob '79 C3 owner here, looking for advice on 2 things:
1. The turn/blinkers handle is broken/out of the holder... I've seen the videos on how to replace/disassemble the steering column down to the turn signals module - but what I want to know is whether I can stick the handle back in and tighten? glue? Or do I need to buy a new unit?
2. seats/pads/covers are cracked to ****.. do I buy new seat covers? covers and pads? What do folks recommend.
Thanks in advance.

The best approach is......Safety First.
Make sure the brakes are in good shape and there are no gasoline leaks because of old sh***y fuel hoses and rusty steel lines.
Any money you have left can go toward repairing/replacing turn signal levers, seat foam-cushions, seat covers (by the way....cheap seat covers last 7 years).
To answer your seat question... It is easy to take the seats out of the car. I am in the process of renewing my driver side lower seat. I found that when I took the lower seat cover off,,, the seat need to be completely rebuilt. Cushion, springs, frame, ETC. I think I will be worth the effort. There are UTube videos to help on the specifics. My seat cover is still ok because it has been replaced, the rest needed attention. Restore the entire seat so you are done with this issue. Then on to the next issue.
